DELOITTE DESIGN THINKER AWARD 2018
The Deloitte Design Thinker Award is achieved by the group that showed the
best understanding and application of structured and creative problem solving to the Deloitte Case Study.
In 2018, in my second year of studies at Curtin University, Deloitte presented
a case study as part of one of my units, Introduction to Design Thinking.
They had a problem - they wanted a creative way to reduce creative block within teams of diverse individuals. During our research stage, we identified that Deloitte team members expressed the positive influence of working with something physical, creating more interaction and connection.
My team and I came up with The Ideation Game. This card based game featured ideation based prompts to promote natural discussion and friendly competition with teams. The prompts disregard individuals backgrounds, so the lack of
common interests or different cultures is not a barrier.

The panel at Deloitte voted my teams solution as the most applicable, and
awarded us the Deloitte Design Thinker Award. Although the pitch only required low-quality mock-ups, below is my design interpretation of The Ideation Game, as well as excerpts from our presentation.
